Bayero University Library was established in 1964, to assist the University in achieving its goals of teaching, learning and research. It is in line with this, the University library acquire, organise and disseminate information in both printed and electronic format.

History

Bayero University Library established in 1964 with creation of Abdullahi Bayero College as the Kano Campus of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Today, the Library consisted ten service points thus: the main and nine branch libraries.

University Library embraced modern technology in order to serve its teeming users better. Library already designed and started S.D.I (sellective information dessemination)in form of information resources alart services.

Vision

Library strive to meet the needs of staff and students through subscribing to electronic databases of international standard, which will enable our users access to informations in their lecture halls, hostels and even at homes.

The Main Library which serves as the Head Quarter is located at the Main Campus of the University. The Main Library has two Phases - The First Phase and the second Phase.
